Horary books with examples 1 by Sterretje I am a beginner Horary student. I am looking for books with examples. I have the book from Ema Kurent, but I would like to have more. I have found on the internet the following 2 books: Horary Examples. Traditional Horary Astrology By Example from John Frawley Modern Horary Astrology from Doris Chase Doane Are these 2 books good? Or do you have other books what you would recommend? Thank you. Quote Mon May 31, 2021 8:22 am
by Tanit3333 I used to own Anthony Louis' book and it is a good intro. I prefer to just read traditional texts to understand the symbolism myself. Frawley has his own techniques that you might want to try out and see if they work for you though. Some students love Frawley. If you want reading material, the best resource is probably William Lilly. Skyscript has links to many free texts: http://www.skyscript.co.uk/texts.html http://cura.free.fr/DIAL.html Quote Mon May 31, 2021 9:38 am
by AmeliaS Anthony Louis's blog, too; it is a nice addition to his book and a treasure trove. He explains some of Lilly's charts and Bonatti's techniques there. And yes, the earlier a beginner reads William Lilly, the better. It really is essential anyway. I would also recommend Barbara Dunn's book. Her approach is quite true to traditions (delightfully so, I might add). John Frawley is a bit of a maverick. Skyscript has some example charts, very well explained: https://www.skyscript.co.uk/relationships.html Christopher Warnock's website offers example charts, too: https://www.renaissanceastrology.com/horary.html Amelia Quote Mon May 31, 2021 9:52 am

by Ouranos Another good site to start up https://mithras93.tripod.com/ A little old but it covers the basics in Traditional Horary ------------------- This one in French - Using Chrome and Google Translate in English https://www.coursastrologiebordeaux.fr/ ... -elective/ Of interest is a reading grid for answering a question and it provides info on Horary, Elective and Composite Horary Astrology (Natal vs Horary) The above will help you build a structure from which you can start to understand the many links you will find on Skyscript and external sites. ------------------- Learn, Unlearn, Read, Stumble, Start over again. Another good practice is to check out what is happening around you with the last aspect and the next aspect of the Moon. Example: This morning I was talking to someone from the Government IRS department Leo rising (Myself!) Sun in the 10th House trine SaturnR in the 6th (The Gov employee) with the Moon last over SaturnR next to MercuryR, ruling my 2nd House. She said they had received my tax filling but it had not been processed yet! She told me to wait for their notice of assessment. So nothing to do for now typical of Retrogrades. Blessings, Ouranos Blessings! Quote Mon May 31, 2021 4:26 pm
by Sterretje Thank you for the information. I love the French article (and also Google Translate). Quote Mon Jun 07, 2021 8:52 am
by Ouranos Thanks Sterretje! Sometimes you need to adjust the Google translation. For example, it translates the Moon 'Vide dans sa Course' (Void of Course) by the Moon 'Empty in its race' Hum! Blessings! Quote Mon Jun 07, 2021 11:56 am
