i have a chart for california... sept 9 1850, 1147 am los angeles... 4 sag 37 rising... not sure where i got it from... cheers..

As a California resident who used to live on the San Andreas fault (now living a little further away), I checked Marc Penfield's Horoscopes of the USA and Canada. (American Federation of Astrologers, 1996) On page 58 he gives September 9, 1850, San Jose, CA 121W53; 37N20 with the note:

"Source: Rectified from sources which stated the president signed the Bill of Admission shortly before he went to lunch." The rectified time given in the book is 9:41 PST, but that seems much too early for shortly before lunch.

I have never worked with a chart for California as I'm not a mundane astrologer. An Internet CA note reads: "California situated its first capital in San Jose."

that's an early lunch!
