Venus is in Aquarius, a sign ruled by Saturn. As Venus is passive, it's often necessary to look at the house or sign that she's in. Aquarius is a male sign.

I'm afraid that horseracing astrology is a little more complex than just finding the 1st aspect to a planet.

It's definitely got a 'saturn' theme. neither the 5th house cusp aspect or it's ruler aspect saturn.

The 5th house campanus makes an aspect to Venus and also the 5th house libra, who's ruler is venus also does not make an aspect to Saturn.
All American races (apart from Sandown Park for some reason) go off around 5 mins past official post time. If you'd moved on the race chart by 5 mins, no doubt you'd have clocked the Sun making an applying quintile under 1 degree.

The Sun mostly brings in any horses with 'Man' in their name.

Plus, the Sun is sitting in an angular house which always gives a planet some extra juice.

Thank you both for your replies.

Yes I've noticed that with the American horse races. They always seem to go off on average 4 mins after the regulated time.

I always thought 'man' was under the domain Saturn though.
