This question is probably very difficult to answer because most (maybe all) people will have worked with either one system or the other (but not both) due to having an Indian or Chinese background. Possibly no one yet has thought to compare them, or even if they can be compared at all.

Maybe there are professionals who work with both systems when helping clients, but the place to meet them would be on home decorating sites rather than an astrological forum. It would be interesting to trace the history of both systems to see which is the oldest, and whether one system influenced the other. I would start first with the historical picture.

Here is a really good discussion of the two systems:

Very interesting link! She seems to be serious practitioner of Indian system, with academic background. I am very delighted that academic research has been linked to these old traditions.

I have been student of Joseph Yu, mathematican and founder of Feng shui research center, for over 20 years. http://www.astro-fengshui.com/about/

Regarding question of comparison of these systems, good question but I think you must understand both really well for evaluation...

Hjortonomus,

Here is an important quote from the link you gave above:
While Joseph Yu was a mathematics teacher after his graduation, he was lucky to have as his neighbor one old Feng Shui master. This old master was very kind to disclose a lot of secrets of the five arts to him even though he was not one of the old master's apprentices.

In one Chinese New Year party at the old master's home, the master said to his disciples, "This young man, though not officially under my care, has learned more than most of you because he has a logical mind and dares to argue with me on various issues."
This is the major complaint that Linchi has on the sidereal astrology forum that if astrologers don't use logic (and research) to question accepted doctrine, we'll never know what is true or mere flights of the imagination. Here Joseph Yu is being commended by a master for daring to argue on issues.

We prefer feng shui. I cannot explain from the point of view of logic how it works, but the arrangement of the house according to Feng Shui, the presence of talismans helped to create a special atmosphere in the house. Somehow it became calmer, fewer conflicts, faster after a working day, thoughts return to normal.
