Phil Ivey

Hi,

Phil Ivey has Venus (benefic) in a good cosmic condition in the V house (gambling, bets, speculation).

One of the most dangerous aspects is the Saturn in a damaged cosmic condition in conjunction with the X house (Orb: 4~). He also has Neptune 0 II (Orb: 5~).

We see this bad configuration operating in the year 2011 where he decides to cheat at the Borgata and another casino in the U.K. by using a technique called "edge sorting", where he goes into a long drawn battle with the court (9 years) and loses, has to repay all his winnings + compensation. Has his assets seized. And gets slurred as a cheater.

He has a water trine from the Moon in Cancer to his Ascendant in Scorpio = popularity, sensitivity (NEP 120 MC). Scorpio: penetration, control, domination.

Very interesting horoscope indeed. The 3 planets in the III: mental activity, the exchange of chips and counts odds in his heads.

I made a video about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXJgkA76c6E

Thanks for introducing Phil Ivey and his chart.

You can tell he’s extraordinary even looking only at how many triangles w average orb in the 0-4ish min range are composed at any particular denominator (waaay more than a statistic average):

Mars5Uran (2min tight) triangulated by Merc (run the 60 harmonic chart);
Sun-Merc-Jup (29 chart)
Sun-Mars-Jup (58 chart)
Ven-Jup-Pluto (48 chart)
Ven-Mars-Uran (55 chart)
Ven-Mars-Nept (66 chart)
Moon-Merc-Jup (61)

Those familiar with the quintile will realize they have probably never seen a 2min tight one; those familiar with the 11z influence can appreciate how the 55z and 66z allow him to fool people, etc.

Of course, it’s more impressive to see each of these triangles in a normal wheel (my software has been reconfigured that way so, e.g., the 29 and 58 triangle can be seen to connect).

hi fadi,

thanks for drawing my attention to phil ivey... i never heard of him before! i see you have altered the time adb gives of 12:25am local time to 12:20: 36 am... not much difference, but it is interesting...

to me one of the most outstanding features of the chart is uranus so close to the ascendant... and as krewster notes - uranus is in a very close quintile aspect to mars in the 3rd, ruler of the 1st/6th houses... for me - uranus exact on the ascendant suggests something exceptional or stand out about the person... also the t square involing sun- saturn opposition pointing to uranus is also quite an interesting set up emphasizing the uranus as well..

you mention a bad config operating in the year 2011 and his cheating... on this bio page on him it says the event happened in 2012, not 2011..
https://www.gamblingsites.org/biographies/phil-ivey/

this link says aug 2012 is when the event happened..

do you have a source for your comment on 2011? i am curious, what the bad config is that you mention as operating at the time?? or, was that a typo and you meant 2012?

for 2012 solar return has gemini rising - 8th house to natal scorpio... profection is a 12th sign year - libra.... in the solar return saturn is exactly conjunct the 12th house north node.... these are some of the patterns i see operative for 2012...

@ krewster,

thanks for your comments... i find your lingo confusing.... what do you mean with the numbers in brackets? for example - sun-merc-jup ( 29 chart ) what is the 29 supposed to mean here? thanks...

fwiw - i used the time of 8:20:36am local for the data i looked at... i just went and looked using the 8:25am time from adb and it doesn't alter any of it..

As always, I never start to delineate a chart without adding the heliocentric positions. In his chart, helio Mercury in exact conjunction with helio Uranus (orb 24’) right on Asc- by itself, this indicate a person with unusual mind, it is also:
1. trine Moon which is conjunct helio Venus in 8th (the other people’s money) , and
2. is sextile with helio Mars- very active mind.
So, both Mercury, geo and helio are in aspect with Mars!
Venus in 5th is sextile helio Jupiter
Helio Mars sextile Asc orb 3’

Hi james,

Sorry late to check in (moving homes last/this week – 100s of tropical plants, 4 pianos and synths, etc)

The nomenclature is just a reference to the “harmonic??? denominator (so a grand trine would be called a “3??? triangle, or a minor trine a 6-3-6).

As for specific meanings for all higher primes, well I won’t purport to be there (after just 5 months going above 23) and anyone who currently does, well...they’re selling snake oil.

But still lots of value in finding the triangles with a common higher denominator because they have to be super-tightly orbed in order to stand alone (i.e., not be equally labelable as a lower denominator using an inappropriately wide orb).

Applying all this to Phil Ivey:

-6 triangles as tight orbed as they are is statistically rare (suggests intense focus-ability);

-among them the 55 and 66 triangles validate what I know about 11z (shame or guilt is unknown and so doesn’t drag the native down to a common socialized position; to over-generalize think Trump or General Patton);

-from just a handful of observations about the 29z so far, the planets involved tend to not serve each other so, per the working theory, having Jup 29 or 58 to 3/5ths of one’s personal planets suggests the native rejects socializing consequences.

note to paul and moderators - signing in again less then 2 minutes later from my post to paul... clearly there is something wrong here...

thanks krewster,

harmonics.. okay... got it... as for calling them all triangles, i don't get that part... using the Sun-Merc-Jup (29 chart) - it is not a triangle in the natal chart and it is not a triangle in the 29th harmonic chart, but perhaps you are using this term triangle very loosely... cheers james..
