There have been a few horary posts lately where members have posted questions and data with no judgement attached – just a request that someone will tell them what it all means.
However ...
This horary board is for discussion amongst horary practitioners and committed students.
If you post a horary question, you are expected to be capable of leading the discussion regarding what the horary chart means. This is because the act of asking a question is not the same as the act of creating a horary – which requires that an astrologer is involved in the definition of the question and its moment of selection.
Asking your own horaries means that you have undertaken the role of being the astrologer who alone can be responsible for the judgement made on that chart. If you are not ready for that, then you should not be posting the questions here. It is also worth bearing in mind that it is the hardest thing to be the astrologer on your own question, because of the personal bias that interferes with judgement, and that is why many traditional authors claimed that we should avoid asking horary questions on our own personal issues.
That said, if you do submit charts for analysis, and make a genuine attempt to describe the background of the question and the judgment you have formed, and call for some clarification on certain issues, you will find the members here very obliging to beginners. We don’t expect that you know all about horary before feeling qualified to discuss issues here, (!) - only that you demonstrate a genuine commitment to studying horary and understanding its philosophy, and that the focus is on horary techniques and principles, not your private issues. Unfortunately the forum doesn’t have the capacity to address those, as stated in the forum guidelines:

| Quote: | Please remember that this is an astrology discussion forum - not a free chart interpretation/tutorial service. The forum exists for committed students of astrology and we don't want posts saying 'this is my birth data - what does it mean?', or 'I've done a horary chart - what does it mean?' Even if you put 'please', 'I desperately NEED your help', or several exclamation marks after your header, we still don't want those kinds of posts.
We are, however, interested in discussing topics that help students understand broad issues of relevance to all astrologers. So requests for information on particular techniques are appropriate and often this is best explained within the context of a chart you are working on. |
A final request is that where you have posted a horary for discussion, please don’t forget about the bit that let’s us all learn the most – the outcome, or the resolution. It is disheartening when members put a lot of time and trouble into answering other member’s questions, and then the original poster does not take the trouble to give feedback, or demonstrate which points were valid or wrongly assessed. Can members think about whether this applies to one of their previous posts, and if it does, whether there is new information that would bring the thread up to date or close the discussion. Thank you to those that have done so already.
These guidelines are only in place to make the forum more useful to everyone involved. Unfortunately I don’t have time to keep explaining the reason for them by private correspondence - in the future if anyone posts a question about a personal issue, with no explanation of the astrology involved, merely a request that someone else explains it all, I'll be deleting the post without notice.
