Hi everyone,

Today I’ll suggest a new exercise.

The question was:
When will my book arrive?

I asked my family to order me a book in France and then send it to me in the US. My mom took care of the whole thing. She sent it on the 12th of October. Eager to get it and thinking that it would be a good exercise, on the 15th of October I asked the question: « When will my book arrive? »

How about I give you a week? I will post the answer on Tuesday the 10th?

If you have any questions, just let me know Very Happy
Have fun!

Morgan

Hello, Morgan,

It's glad to see the new exercise.

My question is what the time and place of this horary chart. The picture looked very small in my computer.

Thank you .

Ming

Hi Ming!

Sorry about that. The chart appeared fine on my screen so I assumed I did it right haha.
Does anyone else see a small chart?

I'm changing the location for privacy reasons. Only the MC will slightly change (and the axis 3rd/9th) but I assure you that won't prevent you from finding the correct answer.

Data:
15th of October 2015
11:43 am
Chicago (87w39, 41n51)

Let me know if you need anything else Very Happy

The timing might be:

1. When the moon was in conjunction with saturn.

2. The distance between the moon and saturn. A degree a day.

Hi everyone,

Hi Ming! Thank you for participating to this exercise.

The answer was: it arrived on the 22nd of October.

-The Moon was void of course, so I took it as meaning that nothing should prevent the book from arriving safely.
-I then took the ruler of the radical 12th as signifying the book. The radical 12th is the 3rd (letters, things people send you) from the 10th (my mom, the sender).
-It appeared that Mars (ruler of the derived 3rd) was going to conjunct in 1° Jupiter (ruler of the Ascendant).
-I thought, 1° could be either days, weeks or months. Mars was in Virgo, a mutable sign, and cadent. The middle time unit seemed most appropriate (weeks).
And indeed the book arrived exactly a week after I asked the question!

Now, like an idiot, I had in mind that my mom sent it on the 12th of Oct., so I counted a week from the 12th. I waited on the 19th and 20th but it did not arrive…two days later it did. I had a second look at the chart and saw my mistake. Might this explain Saturn in the Ascendant’s sign?
Very Happy

Hello, Morgan,

Thanks for your updated.

This is a really interesting case.

Yes, we should consider Mars with 1 degrees distance between approaching to Jupiter. Jupiter is your significator, and Mars is the turned 3rd from your mother and also the exalted ruler of the radical 2nd.

Another clue for time is Moon. She is a general significator of transport or moving item , so she signified the transportation and your book ,and her also placed in the turned 3rd too. She is applying to Saturn and not void of the course. The moieties between the Moon and Saturn is 10 degrees 30 minutes or 11 degrees and 30 minutes . Saturn is the ruler of the 2nd.

Mercury in the 10th your mother's house ,I was sure your mother delivered the book to you , and it exactly departing from saturn the ruler of your 2nd house for 1 degrees.

What clear and beautiful chart it is ! Very Happy

When i count the timing of it ,I thought it will be about a week but hard to count the specific date.

When we count the timing of a event, should know how long it will take or happen generally. In the other word , the common sense, then the symbols in the horary chart.

I did not know how long did delivery a book from France to US. A week or several days seemed to be reasonable.

I ever thought one or two days after the question ,but it seemed somewhat impracticable. And also should consider the workday or holiday of the post office. Very Happy

Very good judgement !

By the way, on the 22nd of October, the Moon aspected to Saturn and Mercury. What the time did you receive or be aware of its arriving ?

You are absolutely right. Having knowledge of the expected/standard delivery time helps a lot.
I do not receive a lot of letters from abroad usually. And when I happen to send something to France and ask for an estimated time of delivery I am told that it depends...(which is understandable but still frustrating haha).

In any case, I imagined that a month would have been way too much especially when nothing really bad was indicated in the chart. Days seemed too short to travel a bit more than 7000km... So I settled on weeks.
Moreover, like you said, you have to take into account business days, potential holidays and sometimes the efficiency of the local post office.

Regarding the time of delivery, that's a good question... Confused
I would say probably between 2pm and 4pm, local time.

Haha, it's really happy to talk with you.

I often buy books from abroad, and I think delivery questions are good for testing our art.

It happens I have such a question for delivery at hand. Very Happy
