Mysterious effects of astrology

1
Hi
Howdy all

A few days ago a guy who used to sing for my band and had left us because of a concert that went wrong in his hometown, joined again two former members of the band. Believing they might try to sing my songs,I sent him a copy of my copyrights, which led to some angry exchanges on facebook.
Then I realised Saturn is now conjunct his Sun.

The begs some questions:

- If he was meant to have a Sun-Saturn experience now ,why was I used by Saturn or god? Are we fated ,like robots?
-If we are fated, what`s the point? Most people don`t know their chart or how prevent its effects. If I knew about his Saturn-Sun conjunction I might have avoided the whole thing, but I didn`t. Maybe god is really a bearded nasty guy playing triks on us.or maybe the planets are the gods

Hello Jack,

Assuming that you are reading Sun/Saturn combinations correctly (there are various other factors and techniques other than transits), my answer is this.

That Sun/Saturn conjunction that occurred may have manifested in this particular way for you (arguments with friends/colleagues/hobbyists/etc), but it will not necessarily lead to the same event happening for all other people experiencing the same combination. The idea is that there can be variations in events for similar planetary combinations.

In the same way that the same configuration can lead to different outcomes for different people, the same configuration can lead to different results even within the same person. One major reason is due to mundane variations. You experience a Sun/Saturn conjunction every year. That doesn't mean that the same thing will occur each year. It depends on where you are currently living, what you are currently working as, whether you are married or not, etc. All of these "mundane" factors come together to create differences in planetary effects.

What does remain the same, is the essence of the event. Sun/Saturn in general creates hostility with superiors. But a person can be superior to another in many ways. He may be your boss at work, he may a specialist in your field who is more expert than you, he may be older than you (seniority), he may be more famous and/or socially visible than you, etc. They are all "superiors", but they come in different appearances.

It is also important to note that the essence of any planet also comes in many appearances, so sometimes "hostility with superiors" may not manifest at all, but rather, another kind of pattern may emerge. Perhaps the slowing down (Saturn) of one's professional activities (Sun) due to obstacles may occur instead. This is another kind of Saturn/Sun pattern.

hi jack,

thanks for sharing. i like what larxene had to say in response to this.

i am curious why you felt the need to send the singer a copy of your copyrights? was that an attempt on your part to stop him from playing any song you had copyrights on? i play music so i am aware of how a song can be held in a few different musicians name, as opposed to one.. i am curious to know what you were hoping to accomplish in this.

i think any dynamic that comes out at a particular time is meant for both parties and not just the one. i am curious if you figured out what the lesson, if any - was for you in this particular exchange? it certainly seems saturnian in nature, but i suspect there is an obvious tie in back to your chart as well.

cheers james

Actually, you couldn't have. And, more importantly, you were not a victim of the current position of two planets in the sky. I haven't been in a fight with a band member in decades.
What happened to you was, firstly, the result of a natal promise (that may be described as an activity by an aspect or simply as a general tendency by the shape of the relevant house - not all separations are tragic; some people change 20 jobs in 10 years, others fall apart when they get fired for the first and only time). Secondly, this event is a part of your Solar year promise and it was simply triggered by an ongoing aspect (and probably additionally supported by some other predictive methods that, again, refer to you, not to the world in general). The two planets being currently (or recently) conjunct will, indeed, affect the life on a mundane level and we can expect them to trigger natal promises on a micro plane, but they won't affect everyone.
Just think about it- you have a colleague/partner/employee, whatever your relationship with him is, and he has been plotting against you (in a way; he is using the material that is your authorship). The critical moment has only either helped the situation to become exposed or, it has triggered the confrontation. This way or the other- no one was hit by a car out of blue. You are now facing the truth and dealing with the consequences of a much bigger promise. How would you prevent this? By turning a blind eye on what is going on? That only mean negating, not preventing. By kidnapping him and preventing him from meeting your old band members? Not an option!

Larxene has given you a very insightful reply already and, I agree with with her. I think that this is a very important thing actually.
They are all "superiors", but they come in different appearances.
A Sun/Saturn stressful aspect (and, due to the enormous differences in the nature of the two planets, I would actually label a conjunction stressful), is, indeed, a collision of two different types of authority.
Are we fated ,like robots?
Are we doomed? Hardly. Ar we fated to our own fate? Maybe, in a way. Let's face it, we can't really apply free will to just about everything- we can't prevent the rain from falling, we can't choose a family in which we are born, we can't chose to be blond...there are many things that we can't affect by our own free will. But, as someone once said- we don't need to be able to prevent the rain from falling- we only need to be prepared for it and take an umbrella.
There are influences that don't have to affect us- unless there's a strong promise for an activity or event in our own chart, we can, indeed, use this art to simply prevent the damage from happening by simply learning more about the upcoming influence. It's ok to decide not to use a lift during retrograde Mercury and make sure that you don't get stuck until the influence is over. However, if a letter gets lost, it's lost, what can you do?!
But, on the other hand, if there is a strong indication of an activity in one of your personal charts, you will hardly be able to prevent it by staying at home until it passes. You might be able to avoid one thing but, another symbolism will jump in. After all, the Sun crosses the natal position of your Saturn at least once a year and casts an aspect onto it every now and then- when there's a promise, anything can trigger it!

Cheers,

Yes,I felt the need. I had the songs copyrighted in my name only, cause they`re mine. I don`t know if they have my songs copyrighted in their name too but I`ll check. The way i posted my warning was rather Saturnine- no words, just a copy of my rights. He asked me "What is this?" and thats where we began to Exchange threats. He told me he would sue me if his photo wasn`t removed from my Band`s page, but he is part of our past ,we can`t just remove any v?deos of our concerts where he sings.
But worse was the job loss- I told the school Headmaster that female supervisors are more bureaucratic than males, follow the rules instead of their brains and common sense. This didn`t go down well.

cheers

Yeah, it's part of the "fate and free will" discussion, which is hotly debated and will continue to be debated for centuries to come. Currently I subscribe to a so-called "compatibilist" argument, in that fate and choice can come together. But it's an argument which I will not go into.

I am more interested in the implications, rather than which argument is correct (determinism, compatibilism, free will). My preferred solution is summed up by the Serenity Prayer:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Astrology helps with the third part: distinguishing between those things we have little control over, and those things which we are actually capable of changing.

Some things, even if they are true, are never meant to be spoken.
