AGREEMENT TO DIGITISE 82,000 MANUSCRIPTS IN VATICAN 1 by PaulParal The Vatican Library is moving forward with plans to digitize 41 million pages of content to make it available to the public for the first time ever. The project will take several years and will result in the publication of some 82,000 manuscripts. http://www.news.va/en/news/agreement-to ... in-the-vat I wonder how many, if any, astrology manuscripts would be included. 2 by hervaro That 's impressive, thanks for sharing! First part of the effort will - according to the linked article - yield 3000 manuscripts on the net, while the total of 80.000+ to be completed if the whole work is done, covers the period between 2nd and 20th centuries. Might get exciting! Herman http://www.hervaro.be Quote Sun Apr 06, 2014 5:22 pm
3 by Zagata Thank you for posting this, PaulParal. While the news is hot, I would like to wish for these manuscripts to contain information on or works from: Nechepso, Petosiris, Abraham, Orpheus, Critodemus, Anubio, Orion, Asclepius, Hermes, Valens, the Sassanidian period, more Arabic books on Astrology and Magic as well by other little known or unknown astrological authors. It would be great if they also release information on Chinese Metaphysics, especially Four Pillars of Destiny Astrology, Feng Shui, I Ching and Face and Palm reading. 4 by PaulParal I do not know if this is the same effort as reported above, but regardless: things are moving ahead, it seems. https://www.vaticanlibrary.va/home.php? ... _art_00271 It looks like a good start, if one of the first things which jumps at you (from the “Published Manuscripts???) is Claudius Ptolemy. https://www.vaticanlibrary.va/home.php?ling=eng The orientation is a bit quirky, some pages do not work, it is extremely slow, but let’s hope they are serious about it and it will gradually improve. And they are going to hide a minimum of the stuff which is of our interest. Just tried the search in one of the sections and it showed 615 titles for astrologia (it looks like some Latin or Italian language capabilities may be required for going thru the archives successfully, even if you switch to English version of the web).
