Football August 2013

I am still on vacation but due to the encouragment from Diamond, let's start of the August session on football prediction. Here is a recap on today's selected match in the Norwegian Tippeliga (Elite division) on August 4 ;

Sarpsborg08 - Stromsgodset, 15.30 CEST
Odds: 3,80 3,50 1,88
Asc 17SC59, MC 15VI45, Moon 16CN18, Fortuna 21LI57
Day Sun, Hour Sun - radical by agreement of powers with Mars, Lord of Asc.

The chart is radical (thus reasonable and sensible; it can be argued) and Venus, Lady of the 7th, is within 7' of the Midheaven. I felt compelled to bet on the away-team favourites in this match. The odds of 1,88:1 were quite attractive.

Strmsgodset won the game 2-4 and a ?50 profit was collected.

Two games with individual starting times in the Norwegain Tippeliga today:

Aalesund - Sarpsborg08, 15.30 CEST
Odds: 1,40 4,50 7,25
Asc 16SC12 MC 17VI51 Moon 13LI06 POF 10CP 15
Day Sun, Hour Sun - radical by shared powers with Mars

The chart is radical, Fortuna is opposite Jupiter, L4; good for the favourites, but doubtful for the guests. I'm with Aalesund on this one.

Vaalerenga - Start, 19.00 CEST, Oslo.
Odds: 1,48 4,40 5,50
Asc 27SG52 MC 18SC32 Moon 15LI00 POF 23AQ40
Day Sun, Hour Moon (Regio) - friendship Moon/Jupiter

Jupiter, L1, is in an angular house, exalted, and in same sign as Mars, L10. Mars is trine the MC. But the real crunch in this chart is Mercury, L7, in square to Saturn, who is cadent. I can't see the guests having the day.

I am going for the combination at an odds of 2,02:1

Hi Andrew,

Do I understand Start caused an upset and won?

The only thing I see is the Moons next aspect is to the Sun (rulership) conjunct antision South Node, within one degree?

Aalesund - Sarpsborg08 3-1 Good! :'
Vaalerenga - Start 1-3!! Rats! :-sk

Those following me on Facebook will have observed I also had a draw in todays top match between Stromsgodset and Rosenborg at 18.00 CEST. The match did not have an individual starting time, but widely differenciated from the other games in terms of location.

The chart for the Vaalerenga match should be explored. Mars in Cancer in the 7th house in own triplicity, disposing and trine Scorpio MC. Mars appears to have been stronger than Mercury, L7. The square from Mercury to cadent Saturn was almost exact, but Saturn was on antiscia of Fortuna - and this may have killed it (apparently) for the favourites.

I made money on Aalesund - Sarpsborg08, but my winnings were lost on the double.

Yes, John.
Start caused an upset, and against the flow of the game. At least this was the commentary at half time. Mercury, square Saturn seemed to be the dominating aspect - but then it is possible that Fortuna comes ahead in the hierachy of testimonies. POF in aspect to fortunes generally advance the favourites, but the malefics go the other way.

One of the interesting considerations must be how Mars in the 7th was more important than Mercury, L7. In addition to the antiscia between Saturn and POF.

Let's examine the outfall of the Valerenga-Start match further by bringing our observations forward to today's (Monday) match. There is a game being played in the Norwegian first division with the same starting time of 19.00 CEST and a comparable chart:

Fredrikstad - VardHaugesund, 19.00 CEST
Odds: 1,40 4,50 6,80
Asc 0CP31 MC 19SC42 Moon 28LI10 POF 8PI32
Day Moon, Hour Mars - radical by exaltation

Once again Mars is in Cancer in the 7th house and trine the MC. The difference is that Mars is both lord of the hour and has dignities in the ascendant by 'ruthless' exaltation. Checking with the Part of Fortune, there is no connection to an infortune, but by antiscia there is a sextile to one of the lights, namely the Sun - and this should poke/peek the favourite. So inspite of yesterdays upset - it is worth trying again. The difference being Fortuna and the role of Mars.

Totally crazy game. Fredrikstad were ahead 2-0 and 3-1. Then 6 goals were scored in 16 minutes, from the 71st to the 88th minute.
The match ended 4-4. I remember checking the odds for this scoreline just out of curiousity. Makes you wonder regarding matchfixing. However, my analysis didn't add up - and what actually happened from the 71st minute and on, I cannot imagine. :o

The lord of the hour ruling the ascendant is generally 'noisy' and 'aggressive'.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the analysis on the two games. The games which occur with similar charts and different results seem to be categorised as either :
- freak result/one off game and so can be ignored, or
- worthy of detailed examination for future reference.

With a quick look the only change, for me, is that Moon has gone VOC and Mars has changed terms(Ptolemy) to give mutual reception with Venus (by term)

Thanks again

Keep posting these sort of observations, John! Thank you :'
I, for one, consider them a most important contribution towards sorting out the odds and ends. Still doesn't make sense, though. The price for the 4-4 scoreline in this match must have been about 200:1. The game in Denmark that started the same time also ended a draw, but with a goal-less 0-0... :o

I still can't figure how a football match can suddenly take off in the latter stages of the 2nd half and produce 6 goals in 16 minutes... that is hardly radical. :???:
Maybe the water bottles got replaced with Vodka...

I'm not going to attempt to predict whether it will be 0-0 or 4-4, otherwise I'll be on more than vodka!

I'll settle for getting closer to predicting if it will be a draw, or a victory (with the odd underdog win)

I think we could take our research to this level. :brows
Meaning: Comparing the charts of the 4-4 match in Norway and the 0-0 result in Denmark, there could be some rules here regarding those degrees wich are deep and pitted, lame or deficient, or those that give encreased fortune - that are worth looking into. Maybe the degrees on the angle influences were things fare.

The game in Denmark on Monday 12:
SonderjyskE - FC Vestsjaelland, 19.00 CEST, Haderslev
Asc 6CP54 MC 18SC16 Moon 28LI10 POF 14PI55
Day Moon, Hour Mars - dignities on the asc by exaltation.

Saturn is more cloesly sextile the ascendant, that might have cooled things down, and Fortuna joined to Chiron could offer an explaination for dividing things two ways.
