Horse Racing July 2012

Angela Cornish dropped me an email yesterday saying she and a friend was testing out Carter's theories on Horseraces. According to Carter these may be judged by the cusp of the 5th house. I thought I'd follow up on that and at the moment I am astonished, having won on 3 out of 5 races and collecting a ?50 profit on small placements of ?3-?5.

Here are my winning bets:
Regiomontanus house cusps

16:00 Hamilton: Cusp 5th 7AR14 conj Uranus 8AR31 opposition Mars 8LI48
?3 on Sparkling Portrait at 2,4:1 - profit ?4,20

18:00 Bath: Cusp 5th 4TA27 square Moon 3LE37
?5 on Rebecca Romero at 6,6:1 - profit ?28,-

20:10 Bath: Cusp 5th 1GE40 conjunct South Node at 2GE21
?5 on School Fees at 7,6:1 - profit ?33,-

I posted one loss of ?5 and one loss of ?8. 8)

Interesting :)

There are a number of things to investigate. I think Carter suggested the Campanus 5th cusp, and applying aspects, but it would be sensible to test Campanus, Placidus and Regiomontanus cusps. Also, I notice that for the 18:00 at Bath, you used a separating square, so we should try both applying and separating. Finally, which aspects? Just the traditional ones, or should we include 45 and 135? What about 150 and 30? Lots to look at!

There are two big races at Ascot (51N25, 0W41) on Saturday: the 15:20 BST and the 16:35 BST. I will try to look at them in detail later.

I might mention that School Fees, represented by the South Node in Gemini on the cusp of the 5th house, actually stumbled (South Node) midway into the race before getting her act together again and winning it on the line..!

Regarding the square of the Moon in the 2nd race, I took the closest aspect, also considering that the Moon was a luminary and disposed Taurus on the 5th by exaltation (close conjunct the degree of her exaltation).

For Saturday's big race, the 16:35 at Ascot, we have the Regiomontanus 5th cusp at 19AR33 applying to the opposition of Saturn (23LI19). The Campanus 5th cusp at 11AR39 separates from the trine of Mercury (10LE51) and applies to the sextile of Venus (16GE36).

If Regiomontanus (and also Placidus) is the correct house system for this, then we have Saturn indicated.

If Campanus is the system to use, and only applying aspects should be used, then it indicates Venus, but if we allow the close separating aspect, it indicates Mercury.

The runners (some may be withdrawn overnight) are:

Brown Panther
Dunaden
Masked Marvel
Nathaniel (who was last year's winner of this race)
Reliable Man
Robin Hood (extreme outsider)
Sea Moon
St Nicholas Abbey
Danedream
Deep Brillante

Whooohooo!
I had ?9,- on Rex Romanuram at Ponte, time 20:10 BST at the price of 3,3:1. This gave a ?20 profit. Terrific!! The chart had the 5th at 6GE16 (Placidus) with Jupiter at 8GE15 and Mercury in Leo!! :lala

GB - Thank you for quoting the house cusps for the various house systems at tomorrows race at Ascot. This is the way to go for sorting it out. I will joing you with some sort of opinion when I get there!

?3 on Zamdyman at time 20:25 BST at Newmarket at the price of 2,54:1. The 5th house (Placidus) at 11GE56 * Mercury at 11LE14. Right again!! :D 8) :'

PS. This house system settings were definately on Placidus on these two races.
I was sat on a different computor.

I would use John Addey's which use Campanus house system.
As GB pointed out 5th cusp is at 11AR39 and applies to the sextile of Venus (16GE36). Ve in Ge mens 2 colours. Ve is connected with blue, white and green colors and because Ve is ruler of 7 house I would pick up "Reliable Man" as winner. I also consider "Dunaden" as winner, colors fits, but because Ge means "young" I decided for "Reliable Man" which is old 4 year while "Dunaden" is old 6 year.

Dream Catcher won at Ponte, time 21:10 BST, with the 5th (Placidus)19GE20 * MOON 18LE18!! Unfortunately, I went with Bid for Gold.. :???:

Note: I had to edit my last two posts because my house settings were on Placidus on the lap top due to research on planetary hour variations. I incorrectly quoted the house system as Regiomontanus. With Regio the 5th cusp in this race would have been 15GE00, which is more accurately conjunct Venus. Do we give Dream Catcher to Venus or the Moon??

I am suffering a slight house/horse system hangover. :-?

The 16.35 at Ascot may not be so easy to call in lack of a planet in an exact relationship to the 5th, even if you change house systems. According to Regio the cusp of the 5th is 19AR35 and conjunct the exaltation degree of the Sun. GB says this is an important race, which is significant in itself, but there could be the question of 'Who is King?' (and that is not the name of a horse. ) Nathaniel at 3,95:1 favourite holds the title from last year and I like the yellow chevron hoop that reminds of the glyph for Aries.

There are 24 horses in the 13:35 with Chiron on the cusp of the 5th house (10PI58 Regio, 9PI33 Placidus). I have put ?3 on Angelic Upstart at 19:1 favourite just to see what the fishing is like.

The 13:35 was won by Redvers with Apostle 2nd.
Angelic Upstart was nowhere in it. Apostle was a name that got my attention in advance, but can Redvers be determined in any way?

?7,50 on Nathaniel at 3,95:1 favourite at the Big Race at Ascot at 16:35 BST. Let's found out whether we are right! I expect you are already in, Goca, considering you see it so clearly? :)

Goca wrote:Hm, now I see, in Ascont race chart 16:35h Moon is VOC! That means favorite wins or there will be no change, we do not need any method. So, Nathaniel (last year winner) will be the winner this year!
The Moon is VoC all afternoon and so should affect all the races. Clearly most have not been won by the favourite :D

At Ascot, in the first four races the favourite won in two, in one the winner was at 12/1 and in the other the winner was 33/1. At Newmarket only one of the first four races was won by the favourite.

I don't think VoC Moon necessarily means the favourite wins.

Danedream won ahead of Nathaniel. :???:

Me loose ?7,5! Where is my money, Goca? What happened?
That is quite alright! ;) It's a learning experience and a photo finnish. I would suggest the chart lacked focus and that the astrologer has to pick out races with caution and with strong astrological testimonies. I agree with GB regarding Moon VOC.
