EURO 2012

Here is a chart for the opening of the thread, if anyone would like to considered that chart from the perspective of a horary. Or it could have been a good moment to open a thread? Cast for my location, just outside Oslo in Norway.

The chart would appear quite potent with the Moon conjunct the exaltation degree of Jupiter and trine the ascendant. Spain, ruled by Jupiter, are the reigning champions. Mars, Lord of the ascendant and the 5th house, is culminating in the South and is significator of the contest.

It is interesting how Chiron in Pisces is on the cusp of the fourth house, because the arrangement is split between the two nations of Poland and Ukraine.

Back to the Opening match, the chart as in the first post.
We have time to discuss the chart details

Poland - Greece, 18.00 CEST June 8. 2012, Warsaw
Odds: 2,00 3,15 4,00
Asc 17SC35 MC 6VI45 Moon 14AQ48 POF 14CN08
Day Venus, Hour Moon - radical by powers with asc

I would like to start by pointing out that we have an example of this type of radicality on May 20. between Rosenborg and Odd Grenland. Moon was Lhr with a Scorpio Ascendant, although there was agreement in that chart to Mars, L1, by triplicity - which might explain the 0-0 draw.

Mars, L1, is sextile the asc. but then this was also the case in the Rosenborg match, without the home team getting anywhere. Maybe the sextile through signs of long ascension is an obstacle? Could Mars, the home team, be infortunated by the square to the Sun? Venus, L7, is weak by combustion and retrogradation. However, POF is inconjunct the Moon - and this may be a testimony of the outsider. The exact semi-sextile between Venus and POF may be significant.

The Moon is intercepted and cadent. Maybe there are nerves and caution, or matters may lie into the deep at the start of the this tournement. My mind is not settled, but I feel like moving away from the favourite and making the draw a starting-point for further discussion.

Overall prospects

Obviously, I am looking forward to the challenge this contest offers for out astrological judgement. I notice that the Moon conjunct the exaltation degree of Jupiter in the chart of opening the thread could, horarywise, indicate both Spain (Sagittarius) or Holland/the Netherlands (Cancer). This signification could be Portugal (Pisces), too, but it feels as if success is out of reach for Portugal at present - but we should keep our eyes open as things start up.

In the chart for the Final, the Moon in Sagittarius could again be a testimony for the Spanish team. The chart is cast for the hour of Jupiter, and Jupiter joined to the Moon's South Nodes could indicate a leaning to habits and the past... (Same proceedure as last 'year'?) The defender of the title would, if in the final, be represeted by the Ascendant. Saturn, L1, is in his exaltation, nonagesimal, square the ascendant and holds matters in check. However, the type of radicality as between Jupiter, LHr, and Saturn, L1, which is by triplicity - quite often seems to indicate a draw. I believe that many people would agree that the likelihood of Spain reaching the finals is high, but against who?? Germany, Holland?? And are there any charts that could upset the wagon on its way. :P

Really, I think that the odds that are offered for Spain winning the whole tournament 3,50:1 are poor in terms of risk/reward. :, A better strategy would be to try and sort out the tournement as it proceeds from one match to the next. Maybe we should also stick to those matches where testimonies seem certain, or at least may a differenciation when the result seems to be in the balance... ;)

Maybe the chart for the final suggests 'no changes'?

Can Croatia Win??
Image
Egil 'Drillo' Olsen is impressed by the Croatian team. Photo: Wikipedia.

Croatia can win Euro 2012, says the legendary Norwegian football coach Egil 'Drillo' Olsen [the Mad Professor - reknown for his wellingtons on the football pitch] in an interview with Aftenposten today (link). Egil Olsen lead the Norwgian team to the World Championships in 1998, where thy beat Brazil 2-1. The Norwegian team beat Brazil twice during this period.

Croatia are ruled by Virgo according to Lilly and others. In the chart for the first match of the tournement, Mars L1 is in Virgo in the 10th house. Mars in Virgo is ruler of the 10th house in the chart of the final. And check the chart for the Opening of the Thread, a Potential Horary. Here Mars L1 is angular and culminating on the Virgo Midheaven.

Unibet quote the likelihood of Croatia winning at the odds of 50:1.
Spain meeting Croatia in the final at 40:1.
Germany against Croatia in the final at 50:1.
Croatia beating either Spain or Germany in the final 150:1.

Astro*Cartography Chart

Here is the Astro*Cartography for the preceeding syzygy, being the partial lunar eclipse of June 4. 2012 at 11.13 GMT.
Image
The eclipse lies on the meridian of many sites in Europe with the Moon in direct North of Oslo at 10E45 and Southward. According to tradition it is the dispositor of the Luminary above the horizon that becomes the Lord of the Eclipse, so this would be Mercury, who lies directly South and on the meridian of Warsaw, the City that holds the opening match.
Venus lies South of Zagreb, Croatia, and Jupiter lies South of Spain, and so on...

I guess some of you might find the chart interesting. :)

Check the preceeding syzygy with the chart of Croatia cast for the Declaration of Independence on October 8. 1991 when there was a New Moon in 15 Libra. It will be discovered that the syzygy beholds these luminaries by a tight aspect, as if the luminaries in the National Chart mediated the opposition of the lunar eclipse on June 4. 2012! :o

That's me not bothering to update my software. But I'd really like to discuss the football and astrology and not my software! ;)

At the moment I am wondering whether Spain/Germany (the favourites) at 6:1 is an easy bet, or whether Spain/Croatia at 40:1 offers a more exciting option. I really like the position of Mars in Virgo in several of the charts provided (check the 'horary'). Then in the chart for the Final, the Moons North Node is in Sagittarius, ruling Spain, with Jupiter joined to the Moon's South Node. Could this mean the Trophy returning to where it came from? The odds 6:1 seems a good price for Spain/Germany in the final, but then these events often open up for an unexpected turn. Do we have anything indicating that this could happen?
And what are the options? :)

Final

12
Hi,
Let's be honest - over the years (in whatever forum) the predictions all in all have not been very satisfying.
No, I'm not going to say that mine have been more successful. However: the times I was successful were with charts of the (probable) end of a match - ("probable" - as in finals and semi finals extra time, 30 min. or even more... cannot be ruled out). The end of a match relocated to the capitals of the two teams.
This suprisingly often leads to good results.
Image
The probable end of the final, Berlin - well, might be some minutes later. This doesn't look bad for the German team (well, provided, of course, they should indeed be in the final ...) - but the chart for Rome, Italy is not so very different, with Berlin and Rome having about the same meridian (difference of about 1 degree). Does not look so very convincing for Spain and (sorry) England.
