Hello All,
I thought some members might be interested to know that the Scottish Astrological Association have organised a one day workshop with Deborah Houlding and Bernard Eccles taking place on June 9th in Edinburgh. The day consists of two talks by Deborah Houlding followed by a presentation by Bernard Eccles.

Deborah Houlding
'Ploughs, Bears and Burials: the Wheel of Fortune in the Pole Stars'
Star knowledge is best learned ‘by heart’ so this talk takes a visually rich tour through a host of information that helps astrologers understand the way constellations have been charted historically and put to use astrologically. Focusing on the polar constellation Ursa Major, it demonstrates key principles which build depth and breadth into constellation meanings and secure our knowledge of celestial movements. Concluding with a comparative chart study, it also demonstrates the value of including prominent stars in chart work and the extent to which it is useful to do this.
'Connections in Time: the Horary Resolution Chart'
A reliable assessment of timing is considered an advanced element of horary. This presentation looks at how the symbolism of time reveals itself quite naturally, so long as it is a pertinent issue in the question and we know what we are looking for. Exploring several chart examples, we see how connections between moments of horary enquiry and resolution are often quite stunning. Understanding the issues involved allows us to identify the best method for horary timing techniques, whilst affirming the value of horary and the wider astrological principle of how celestial cycles unfold meaning over time.
Bernard Eccles
'Watching the Dance of the Planets'
Why are there so few myths about Mars? Why so many about Venus? Why is your eighty-third birthday so good? Why isn’t your Saturn return exact on your birthday? Why does Ptolemy say the Moon governs your first four years? Why not the first two, or six? The answers to all of these provide fragments of a different sort of astrology, based on the observation of the night sky at the rising and setting of the Sun. Eclipsed, if that’s the right word, over the centuries by ephemeris-based astrology, it’s ripe for revival.
