Indian Summer

An Indian Summer has been forcast Norway towards the weekend with temperatures up towards 25C. This occurs as the Sun in Libra is sextile Mars in Leo. Mars in aspect with the luminaries is according to tradition and affairs at large, associated with pushing up temperatures. Maybe this one is more significant because Mars in in Leo and disposed by the Sun? Sun square Pluto would also be more fierce?

The problem is that celestial aspects among the planets have an universal meaning, while anything related to the weather must bear local significance. The warm weather forcast our Northern latitudes is due to hot air being pushed up from the South. Someone might be noting it? Anyone?

Hi Andrew,

Excellent idea to create an ongoing thread on weather prediction.

I believe full, new and quarter Moon charts are quite important based on location. Also solar ingress for the bigger picture. As with solar ingress charts a key factor is the angularity of planets and fixed stars. As you say though it is tricky if you have a general weather front across northern Europe. We also seem to be getting this hot spell in Scotland later this week too.

Heat record in the month of March

This week there has been a heatwave in Norway and yesterday, March 22. 2012, there was a new heat record. The warmest temperature measured in March - Ever! In Oslo temperatures rose to +18C, while one part of the country noted +20C.

Astrologically, there is the inferior conjunction of Mercury to take into consideration. Mercury is the quicksilver, in sports events it may indicate the Record, which is a variable that lies higher than the Gold Medal. Some texts connect the inferior conjunction of Mercury to spectacular phenomena in nature - although I cannot remember off hand whether it was Norstand or Pearce who associated it with Earthquakes.

In addition to the inferior conjunction of Mercury (March 21. 19 GMT: Moon in Pisces and the warm winds were said to come up from Portugal!), on March 22. there was the New Moon in the 3rd degree of Aries - in conjunction with Uranus!! Maybe that goes for an irregular spell??
