Horror pictures to scare smokers

Horror pictures of cancer patients, corpses and children are to appear on cigarette packets and be used in a US campaign to get Americans to stop smoking, according to Aftenposten.

This campaign is interesting in terms of the current allignment between Pluto and the Moon's north Nodes in the sign of Capricorn.

There is an American comedian and former smoker himself named Dennis Leary. Leary referring to cigarettes once said, "I don't care if you put a skull and crossbones on the package and name them 'Tumors,' people will still buy them."

I think he's right.

Hi,

As I don?t subscribe to the idea that the skies exist to show what is happening on the united states, I must comment that we have this photos in Brasil for over a decade now. Other countries, like Colombia, have also adopted the idea, so I don?t know where it begins.

Tom, obviously people don?t stop smoking because of that, but there is an effect. Males specially avoid the "impotency" ad. Females avoid the photo with a dead fetus, etc. The photo of mouth cancer is very ugly.

Yes but for how long? There is an element of "the sky is falling" to all these conditions supposedly linked to cigarette smoking. After a while it is just another way to cry "Wolf."

I went to an allergist a couple of years ago and as it was my first visit he went through my medical history.

"Do you smoke?"

"No."

"Did you ever smoke?"

"Yes but I quit over 35 years ago."

"Ugh," shaking his head slowly. Surely a horrible death will ensue. I almost asked how long I had to live and why bother giving it up in the first place if starting led to instant doom?

This sort of thing can be overdone
