Ibn Ezra's 'The Book of The World' available in English! 1 by Estebon_Duarte In and update to this thread... http://skyscript.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2870 I have included a link and review for the release of Volume 2 of Shlomo Sela's continuing publication of critical Hebrew editions of all Ibn Ezra's astrological writings including English translations and notes. http://www.brill.nl/default.aspx?partid=210&pid=32868 An extremely valuable undertaking we should be thankful for Sela's efforts. I am working on editing my review as of posting this- Western Predictive Astrology by Estebon Duarte Independent Researcher AMA MACAA Natal Chart & Annual Solar Revolution Reports www.organic-astrology.com Quote Sat May 22, 2010 9:31 pm
2 by Mark Hello Estebon, Look forward to your full review. This looks like an essential book for the library of anyone trying to work with traditional methods in mundane astrology. Thanks very much for highlighting this publication Mark Last edited by Mark on Sun May 23, 2010 12:56 pm, edited 1 time in total. 3 by Estebon_Duarte this is indeed a much needed work on Medieval Mundane Astrological Technique. The introduction alone opened up my understanding of the Jewish and Hebrew contributions to Astrology that exist. There seem to be some yet-to-be translated Hebrew works that fit into different textual transmission periods. I will be following Sela's work closely. 4 by Estebon_Duarte In addition to the critical edition of Ibn Ezra's The Book of The World, I have just acquired a very thorough dissection and English translation of the same title published just before Dr. Sela's- https://oa.doria.fi/bitstream/handle/10 ... sequence=1 introducing the translation is a very interesting paper entitled "Religion and Science in Abraham Ibn Ezra's Sefer Ha-Olam". The English translation is a bit more choppy than Sela's, which is to be expected, as it's from only one original source. It is however very fortunate access for those lacking money for the Brill publication and for more detailed information on the life of Ezra.
