Wild weather

Vancouver and Vancouver Island are having a windstorm of about 80 kph with gusts up to 110 kph on 2 April 2010.

Not a clue what's causing it, but if anyone's doing weather tracking, thought I'd give a shout-out. It's positively surreal out there. I think there are at least several thousand power outages by now, one damaged ferry, and the ferries are shut down.

Focussing mainly on aspects between planets I couldn't find some noteable hard aspects or it must have been Mercury and Venus applying to a square to Mars. (note that Mercury and Venus don't manage to reach mutual conjunction these days) Sun in semi-square to Neptune is perhaps something but a quite isolated aspect in this case.

Olivia, do you know at which time the storm reached the mainland or when the storm was at its height? Perhaps the applying square was related to an angle.
