Take part - Stock market

1
More than a year ago, some of us get into the soccer contest on the guardian website. To me it was a very interesting and enlighten experience.

So, I was wondering if anyone would like to participate on an stock market simulation game on investopedia.com

If anyone was interested, I think we could start the game in january. I think players would need some weeks or months to understand how the site works, and even more time to understand the basics of the market, and how they want to use astrology.

At first I was thinking in a very simple game, only with stocks, but investopedia also allows options and short selling.

If people are interested, please let me know.

Best regards
Y

Hi Yuzuru,

Absolute beginner.

I'd be happy enough being part of a group and running with some basic astrological principles to see what developed. A bit like we did with the football, in fairness we didn't do to badly.

I think we'd need a few more than than the two of us.

This is an excellent exercise for those who wish to learn. I was living comfortably off astrology and stock/option trading in the late 90's being one of Norway's leading private actors in the options market. In 1996 my income was in excess of ? 100.000 and in 1997 over ? 400.000. Brokers were following my cue. However, the strain got too much, working on my own and simply too many dogs in the market. There is little or no honor - it's simply a fight for the dime.

Trading the market can be great fun, but it's complex and there are a few things to think about before letting it become an addiction. I have no professional interest in the markets at the moment and am therefore apt to leave it alone.

Hi, Andrew, sorry for the late reply, but I didn?t receive the automatic notification of your reply, so I just assumed no one had answer it.

Glad to hear about your experience. It is good to see astrologers honoring their trade, instead of engaging in flaming wars through the internet :-). Deb also traded for a time in the futures market, I think, short selling with the moons.

I am studying technical analysis because I plan to enter the market next year, but I have little capital, and as you know, it is a numbers game.

Stockmarkets have turned down again after the annular solar eclipse of 15 january 2010. Markets that have completed a movement and are ready often turn upon the eclipse, or with the full moon preceeding or after the eclipse. I think I was looking for the market to turn with the full moon that preceeded the solar eclipse on 31 Dec 2009 - particularly since this was a lunar eclipse at the Moon's south node, but I am alright with the turning point following the solar.

It remains to see the significance of this movement or whether the scales can be balanced before a new session of troubles escilates. The Sun into Aquarius also seems to have let the cat out of the bag and sent ivestors running for the doors.

Hi Andrew & Yuzuru, I agree, I think the stock market has high probability of an important mid Jan. top. Another observation along with the eclipse; the CapSolar Ingress in the Sidereal zodiac was Jan. 14th. I have seen many times where markets top, sometime to the exact day with Solar ingresses in both zodiacs. I also think Obama initiating an attack policy on US banks could be the fundamental reason for a top.

It is my experience that the annular eclipses are more spectacular in this sense. Note the annular eclipse of 23 September 1987 as a classical example. This marked the orthodox top before the 19 October fall. That is not suggesting that the coming movement will follw a similar pattern.

I sent out a press report this morning pointing to that the unemployment figures up ahead are likely to fall of expectations and result in a sharp correction on financial markets. My press release was in response of an analyst saying that the US figures on Friday could release a significant rally. My comment was that investors should not bet on the rally, but rather take precautions towards the opposite.

The US figures tomorrow are due at 13.30 GMT - but study the constellations of the moment you will see that the waning Moon in the sign of its fall, the violent Scorpio, is applying by square to the detrimented Sun in the fixed and violent sign Aquarius. This is a sure warning that figures may upset and investors run for the doors.

US markets are down over 2,5% this evening - so my warning came ahead of the initial drop. It remains to see what the morrow is like, but if figures are poor the selling is likely to have consequences over the weekend and into the next week.
