In Vedic astrology, Mercury is considered immoral in sex matters. S. Rath writes in "Crux of Vedic Astrology", p 255 : "As such, Mercury gives weak morals in matters of the opposite sex unless aspected by Jupiter. If instead, the Moon is in trines to Mercury, laxity of morals will surely occur."

Thank you for posting at the Mundane section. I would say you are right correct in treating your observation as a mundane and collective phenomena rather than concerning natal issues. Hence, the discussion is welcome here.

Your observation opens up for many questions and opportunities for further research and investigation. Trust the double-sign Gemini to get caught in action. Familiar with all. No offense meant. Is Mercury retrograde at the time they stray? Or do they show up because the USA is Gemini? Or is Gemini more preoccupied with politics? I do not think it is fair to treat Gemini's as fickle or less moral than other signs. Since I personally share sunsign with Bill Clinton I feel that I'm already well enough exposed in that direction. I am sure that there are two sides to every story, or else there will be no place to hide as sunsigns come falling out of the closet.

My location is Norway. Someone in England might provide a summary of some of the British hotspots. There have been a few under Brown. If Gemini's are in the limelight in the US, does the same sign show up in the UK - or could Aries be more lustful on this side of water with England through the Arian rulership?

These matters have been kept well under the surface in Norway, although under the practice of the new laws for prostitution in Norway (the purchase of sexual services is prohibited) one reknown female from these circles claimed that she had several esteemed representatives on her list of clients. One prominent politician that did get into trouble was Terje S?rviknes of the Norwegian Progress Party. He was accused in the year 2002 for having sex with a minor at a political convention. S?rviknes is still seated as Mayor for the Progress Party in the community of Os.

I'm one of those people who thinks that sex scandals are merely a way of misdirecting peoples attention from important issues, As far as I'm concerned the only person who should care if you are cheating on your spouse, is your spouse and their divorce attorney, frankly its none of my business and I wish people and the press didn't pry so much, metaphorically speaking.

However, having said all that, I do agree that it is intersting that there is a seasonal pattern to this particular development.

A few more questions to check before one gets excited .... Are there More persons in general who are in politics that are born at that time of year than other signs? what rules sex scandals in a mundane chart? is there something affecting that chart that would make it more likely that persons of a similar birth season would be more apt to be made public?

However, a planet in exaltation in a nativity is in my experience equally viable to create a racket. The planet in his exaltation does according to Lilly, CA102, present a person of a haughty condition, arrogant, assuming more unto him than he is due.

Venus in detriment is probably more like an insurance. It makes sure that the dirt doesn't get too clean, but the dirty gets more attractive.

Aw... how is one supposed to get out of a delination like that?? Venus in detriment may or may not be hazardous, but I am sure it makes way for a lot of great personalities.
