Saturn in the 10th and 10th lord Mercury in 7th conjunct Algol,combust and retrograde.

Does not bode well for the Prime-Minister but, he has has had a recent heart op and now, in good health.

7th house in a swearing in chart is possibly the opposition parties or is it the coalition partners?

The PM seems to be having more problem with his southern coalition partners than the opposition at present.

Any opinions on the Longevity of the governement ?

I'm not sure.
If we read this as a usual mundane chart, then 1st house and Mars are the nation, 10th and Mercury the new government (very early degrees in a mutable sign), 7th and Venus are the nation's partners or enemies, 4th and Jupiter the opposition.
Mercury on the cusp of the 7th, Rx. , under Sunbeams and cnj. Algol, separating from a sextile with the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction. Any secret agreement between the Government or PM and members of the oppostion, which will harm the people (Mercury in Mars' sign of detriment, on the cusp of 7th, afflicting the 1st house)? Has the government or PM "lost their mind"?
How do we judge the timing of "end of government"?
Mars L1 applies to sextile Jupiter L4, and will perfect this aspect in about 3 degrees. Mars in a cardinal sign in the 5th house...would that make it 3 months or 3 years?
Mercury L10 wil turn direct in about 3 degrees (22+ Taurus). Mercury is angular in fixed sign. 3 years?
Should we look at the time when Mercury Rx. hits the Desc to move into the dark side of the chart? Or maybe the time when Jupiter turns Rx. at about 27+ degrees aquarius ?
The exalted Moon L9 in the 6th will perfect a trine with stationary Saturn in the 10th in 10 degrees. What does that reflect ?
Saturn in the 10th rules the 3rd house (neighbouring countries? Pakistan?) which is 6th from 10th (PM's illness). Moon's application to Saturn marks the timing for this issue to come forward ? 10 months?

Maybe I am mistaken and one should realy assign 1st house and Mars to the government, H10 and Mercury to the prime minister and 7th-Venus to the opposition. So why is PM Mercury hiding with the opposition? why is it a peregrine, angular planet, acting like a thief?
Again,Mars will perfect a sextile with the Neptunian Jupiter L4 (end of the matter) in 3 degrees. Should this give the timing ?
It is interesting that Mars L1 is very strong in the 5th house, and being chased by Venus L7 which it disposits?

This should be equivalent of Coronation or Inaugaration chart.
I can explain the combustion- the REAL power lies with the Gandhi family-all political decisions are taken by Sonia Gandi and Rahul Gandhi(Prime-minister in waiting).The Prime-minister is more of a technocrat.He is not even a member of the Lok Sabha ie the equivalent of House of commons but a member of Rajya Sabha(=Upper House=indirectly elected house). The Government is a coalition government with potentially headstrong allies.

7th house in ingress chart is for foreign relations- whether friend or foe

Mercury has retrogressed from Gemini and Sun is in Gemini.

Maybe, America will twist this government,s arm to get involved in Afghanistan.

I was not sure where the coalition partners would be represented in a parliamentary democracy.

It might be interesting to have another look at the recent Jupiter/Saturn conjunction chart for India (Year 2000?), as Mercury will soon station direct right at that conjunction degree (Taurus 22+) possibly reactivating it.
