Now how appropriate that you should ask! :)

I just came in from a meeting concerning recent advances within microbiology and evolutionary theories. A toast was held in honour of Darwin's 200th. Now where would we find a reliable nativity for the moment of his birth? I can hardly imagine that the time was registered in any reliable manner. Would a Sunrise chart do?

Marc Penfield refers the following data in his astrological "Who is who?"
Charles Darwin; Born Feb. 12, 1809 Shrewsbury, England - Died Apr. 19, 1882 Kent, England. Penfield provides a chart with an Asc 18CP, MC 25 SC, Sun 23AQ11 and Moon 23CP06.

I do not know the basis for this chart.

Actually Charles Darwins Father gave him the idea, his travels to Australlia gave him observable evidence. :) there has been the most wonderful darwin exhibit at the Huntington Gardens this past few months, not certain if it is still on display or not, but over the holidays we went twice we liked it so much, wanted to see more.

Sunny wrote:It would be interesting to discuss how his chart is " still working "
Should this discussion be continued in terms of modern developments within the evolutionary theory?

I remember from work on the charts of the outer planets that planets planets with placement in Scorpio and towards the middle of the sign (15SC) in particularl shows the nature of what is being uncovered and entering the realm of Human consciousness. Darwin has Uranus at 9SC40. That makes sense in terms of an evolutionary theory or a theory of natural selection.

At the 'Sports & Speculation' dep. I have a thread titled 'Lotto and Fortuna' http://skyscript.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2939
Uranus was highlighted in the chart for when the Norwegians had their first Lotto draw. Is there a relevant comparison between matters of random and natural selection? Let's just remember that Uranus represents that what is termed as scientific intuition. :)

Hi Granny,

I haven't heard that before. I must check it out. I terms of his family I have read about his Grandfather Erasmus Darwin who was a writer on botany and zoology and wrote about evolution. However, this was more like the notion of progressive evolution as proposed by Lamarck rather than Darwin's theory of natural selection.

Well in order to go there (Scorpio that is) would we need to look at charts of people like Galileo and Newton and Tesla, or at the charts of discoveries and ...

There is an astounding amount of animal discovery going on in the last decade or so. it seems like it compounds every time you think you might have an idea about the rate of discovery.

I know everyone from my generation had Neptune in Scorpio but I dont know what the younger kids excuse is. :)

edited: unless of course it may be a moon through scorpio thing, moon goes there often enough...
