Data - Barack Obama 1 by Deb Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States of America Please use this thread a place to store data as we learn of it and as it happens (ie, keep astrological and political discussion out of here, to ensure that the data is easily accessible). The charts show Placidus house cusps Obama?s birth chart There has been controversy over the release of Obama?s birth certificate, and whether it was forged in any way; but the following data has been given an AA rating by Astrodatabank. AA rating means ?Accurate data as recorded by the family or state?, and is generally regarded as reliable. 4th August, 1961; 19:24 AHST (+10:00). Victory & inauguration 2 by Deb Look at the hour of the withdrawing of the king whose entrance you came to know, or at the time in which the kingdom will receive [his] last will and testament, or at his question. And from these you will know the quantity of his period in the role, and whatever would be in it for him. And from the hour of his confirmation and election is known his honour and victory. (Sahl. On Times, ?12: The chapter of the tenth sign on the king, from the sayings of Masha?allah?; Dykes, p.236) Realisation of win (Obama was in Chicago): 10:00 pm CST (+6 hrs) Chicago, 4th November, 2008 (times below use GMT as reported by BBC news) From BBC news: ?Mr Obama captured the key battleground states of Pennsylvania and Ohio, before breaking through the winning threshold of 270 electoral college votes at 0400 GMT, [5th November, 2009] when projections showed he had also taken California and a slew of other states.? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/ame ... efault.stm Another BBC source quotes 4:04 am GMT: 0404 The Big Enchilada, California, with a whopping 55 electoral votes, has propelled Obama to victory! The Democrat has also notched up a seismic win in Virginia; a truly epochal result. Virginia contains Richmond, once the capital of the Confederate slave states; it hasn't voted for a Democrat since 1964. This is a state where, as recently as 1961, Obama's parents' mixed marriage would have been ruled illegal. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7710163.stm http://www.skyscript.co.uk/im/forum/barack_win.gif Delivery of victory address: 11:00 pm CST (+6 hrs) Chicago, 4th November, 2008; or: 5:00 am GMT, (using BBC sources the times are again GMT, for 5th November 2008) 0501 Obama says: "If there's anyone out there who still doubts whether America is a place where all things are possible, tonight is your answer." 0459 America's new First Family walks on stage. Barack Obama with his wife Michelle and two daughters Malia and Sasha. 0458 Obama has arrived at Grant Park in Chicago and is on stage to address a delirious crowd. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7700298.stm Inauguration as President According to tradition, the inauguration will take place in Washington at 12:00 pm EST (+5hrs) on 20th January 2009. http://www.skyscript.co.uk/im/forum/barack_inaug.gif There is an interesting website which reports ?Presidential Inaugural Weather? and which includes comments on how this may or may not reflect events within the presidency: http://www.erh.noaa.gov/lwx/Historic_Ev ... ation.html If anyone wants to comment on the indications of the inauguration, please start a new thread. 3 by SIDERUM I was seeing TV (CNN) when writing:"Barack Obama Elected President". The Time was:04:00 GMT in Atlanta!!! ASC=01?58'Leo;MH=22?02'Aries!!! and MOON=01?59'Aquarius Regards Mario www.siderum.com Quote Thu Nov 06, 2008 6:40 pm
by Deb Hi Mario We are using the same time but I set the chart for Chicago, Obama's home town, which was where he was at the time - hence there is a slight difference in angles to that drawn at Atlanta. Is there a reason why I should choose Atlanta instead? Thanks Deb Quote Thu Nov 06, 2008 6:58 pm
by SIDERUM Hi Deb!!! Because the Headquartel CNN is in Atlanta!!!, CNN was the Firts Media that it gave News. Mario www.siderum.com Quote Thu Nov 06, 2008 10:22 pm
by Andrew Bevan I would stick to Chicago. That is where the event is happening, more than were it is being reported. It would be like a team of doctors monitoring a childbirth across the internet. The doctors would make their observations in various locations, but would relate to the place of the child. http://www.astronor.com Quote Thu Nov 06, 2008 10:42 pm
by ### I would never use Atlanta. The world isn't cheering for CNN! Chicago works for looking at Obama himself and for comparing an event chart to his natal chart in consideration of his life and achievements. But for what the event means to the US and the world (the world reaction has been pretty awesome) I would use a chart for 11:00 pm EST in Washington, DC. This has been a major collective event; to catch the larger essence I think we need to move over to Washington. The name 'Washington, DC' now carries much meaning and significance ? good and bad ? for people in every corner of the world. This has been a Washington event just as much as or more than an Obama event, with Washington as a symbolic center. Quote Thu Nov 06, 2008 11:22 pm
by Andrew Bevan You are watching CNN from your own living room... I think this part of the discussion will be moderated when we all have expressed our opinion. I have no objection to the discussion, but I think we should follow the guidelines that Deb gave along with her initial post and stick to providing data. http://www.astronor.com Quote Fri Nov 07, 2008 8:03 am
by Deb the whole world watching CNN!!! Were we, or were we watching Obama? I realise that there will be different views about the best locality. I thought about Washington myself, but I'll leave the chart as it is and let the follow up discussion give the details of alternatives. I think it's appropriate to have discussion about data in this thread, although we could perhaps trim some of it later, when ideas have been talked through a little. I'm grateful for the discussion actually, because I did wonder where best to set that chart. Quote Fri Nov 07, 2008 10:21 am
by ### If I may pipe in again... I'm all for the Chicago chart when looking at Obama's life astrologically, and I understood that this was specifically a thread about Obama. I was looking at future discussions, especially in a context of mundane astrology. Then I think Washington steps in. I was concerned about this setting a pattern, that Chicago would be the location chosen for mundane charts concerning the election and the change of American politics and policies. Of course others might disagree with me concerning the use of Washington rather than Chicago for mundane work, to which I can only say 'How dare you!'. Quote Fri Nov 07, 2008 11:01 am
