I've been told that astrology can't predict death, however if you are looking at a chart of someone with a terminal illness, trines could indicate a time of release and going with the flow.
Remember that everything we have somebody before us shed blood, sweat and tears so we could have a better life !

Death is either a trap or a trade. It can be a release or an initiation. As Man moves forward our expected life-span tends to increase. Life is a fragile thread, that is for sure, with death luring to either side. With some natives the life force is stronger than with others, meaning that the ability to resist disease is greater. But death can come in different ways, by natural cause, by disease or it may seek you out - as in an accident. The native could be the passenger sat in the back seat of a car, and subject to the actions of the driver - or the car coming in the opposite direction suddenly looses control and swerves...

Death is a subject we do not know too much about. It is difficult to administrate and deal with. Unpleasant to check out - particularly if you are looking for some test candidates. It represents an occupational crises on the part of Man, where there is often emotional shock or mourning with performance. We lack the vision to identify the quest of the soul with the flight of the Arrow of the Archer that journeys freely through the air towards its ultimate target. (The Moon, representing the soul, was in ancient times closely associated with Sagittarius. It is the mythological Chiron who releases tha Arrow).

I think it is natural to seek the chart for the cause of death, and possible people who are your enemies, natural or unintendingly. Mostly, because there is wisdom to gained from understanding something about the trick and dangers of life - and how to behave correctly. It is difficult to spy death and manuvour elsewise if it springs upon you through the actions of others. The cause of death may truly spring out from the collective and unknown, but if you are in the back seat of a car - it might be your task and challange to insist that the driver slows down and drives sensibly - or that you do not want to be member of such a wreckless trip.

Or death may occur due to internal causes, some disease of which you have no control. You may behave responibly, but still be caught up by the irrational.

As the native moves through life I think there are clues to what should heeded at different times. There are certainly period that represent a greater threat to the individual than others and theat these burdens to the system can be described in nature. If the period is under the influence of Leo it is good advice to the client to avoid neglecting and abusing his/her back - and maybe the heart, if you can get yourself to putting that over in a constructive fashion.

So the wheel of life is very much like a game of chess. There are certain rules and possible moves within a given framework. You can run into the game with your eyes closed and will surely be deprived of your forces and the game with be over within a few moves. Or you may plan your manuvours in a sensible manner and this leads to improving the the quality of the game. Sooner or later the game ends - but you may have won the game or solved your mission and task.

Conclusion: The chart gives a clue and the native can be on the alert and trade correctly, but will still be subjected to forces higher than his or her self and a possible victim of collective patterns. And even here, the native still has the potential for doing the right thing.

Context of Death Question

Dear J K Sharma,

An answer about death depends in part on the context of the chart. Are you speaking of a birth chart, or a horary which asks the question specifically? I'm not sure if you are asking about Vedic astrology, an area I know very little about. If your question is about Western astrology,
would you be asking about your own death, or someone else"s? Lilly gives rules for predicting death in the eighth house material of Christian Astrology. Lilly does recognize that death is a delicate subject and gives some cautions about when it is appropriate to answer a question about death.

The prediction of death is very highly developed in decumbiture. Richard Saunders gives over 30 pages of indications of death in the chart, and three pages on recovery. In decumbiture, three signs of death on the chart are required before death is judged. If there is any sign of recovery on the chart, death is ruled out.

Accuracy about predicting death was a high priority in the sixteenth century, the time when Saunders was writing. To be a doctor in those days was to be an astrologer. When someone was sick, the doctor cast a chart for the moment the person became ill, or the time their urine was delivered to the astrologer (doctor). This was the time of the plague. It sends a chill down our spines to think of it now, but before they even visited a plague patient, astrologer/doctors needed to know which cases would survive and which were a lost cause. In a large metropolis like London, thousands would die daily. At that time, predicting death by astrology was an urgent practice of triage and might mean a matter of life or death for the doctor as well as the patient.

The accuracy of these techniques in predicting death most likely depended to a great degree upon the skill of the astrologer in applying them, just is it does today. Historically, sometimes the most accurate astrologers became targets for suspicion or accusations by members of the medical profession who were less successful in predicting death--and therefore, were less successful doctors. Simon Foreman is a case in point.

I hope this helps answer your question.

Best,

Pam
