Hello Indigo,

in Natal Charts, the Ascendant shows the person, the body and the general health of the Native. Squares and oppositions to the Ascendant often show afflictions to the body.

So if Cancer is rising, the Native and his general health are signified by the Lord of the 1st, the Moon. The Moon is, by the way, also considered as the minor life-giver in every chart.

How is the Moon? Moon is in Aries, having no dignity, but even more important, she's in a sign contrary to her own nature (a Cold/Moist planet in a Hot/Dry sign). In medical astrology, this would be a testimony for a rather weak and sickly nature of the Native. The additional square to the Ascendant emphasizes this.

But as always, one testimony is not enough to be considered in the chart. You should look if the Moon is helped by strong benevolent planets which aspect her, or if the ASC degree itself is aspected by benevolent planets, or if there are benefics in the 1st house.

Also have a look at the position of the Sun, the major life-giver in the nativity. If the Sun is well-placed in Aries, Leo or Sagittarius, where in its dignities and temperamental nature, this for example might be a good testimony for health, especially when it's a day-time chart.

Have a nice day,
Ed
