Software questions: Janus and Mercurius

1
I recently installed Janus 4.1 on a machine running Windows XP. The installation was successful, but when I attempt to run the application I get a runtime error message (11: division by zero). Has anyone else experienced this? The Janus tech support didn't recognize it and couldn't really help.

Also, I should be glad to hear (privately) from anyone who owns a copy of Mercurius and would be interested in helping me review it for a forthcoming book on primary directions.

I had something like this happen. It had to do with the first time the program was started, and it was trying to initialize the atlas and timezone databases. But now I can't remember exactly how I dealt with it. You might try rebooting the machine and then starting Janus again.

You might want to try starting (not installing) Janus in "safe mode". I think the issue is available memory, so you want excess background programs not to start.

Once you've gotten past that first startup, you can use it normally.
