Sterne und Mensch (von Kl?ckler): outstanding auction result

1
This week I have been watching an interesting auction for an unbroken run of thirteen years and two months from March 1927 to April 1940 of German early 20th century astrological luminary von Kl?ckler's astrological journal 'Sterne und Mensch' that apparently ran in its entirety from 1925 to 1941. I could find records of complete or close-to-complete sets in a small handful of German libraries only, and none outside Germany, indicating that on an international level at least it's an exceedingly rare journal.

But I was still surprised that it fetched such high prices as this. The run sold to two different bidders, with the issues spanning March 1927 to December 1930 selling to one for a total of 757 Euros:

... and the issues spanning January 1931 to April 1940 selling to another (who in each case outbid the first, much to his disappointment I suspect) for a grand total of 2210 Euros :

This means that the combined price fetched by the entire run of thirteen years and two months was a staggering 2967 Euros (or approximately 2351 GBP or US$ 4648, not that anyone outside Germany bought it, mind you...) despite the lack of the first couple of years and the last year.

Must make for very interesting reading in relation to the historical and political events and topics of the time. I would not be surprised if these had sold to general historians rather than specifically astrologers.

In any case, French astrological journals of the era seem to be very affordable by comparison!
