Fearless Football Picks Jan 12 - 13 NFL

Four games: two today and two on Sunday. I found nothing to indicate
that any of the games will result in upsets.

Note all Times EST, but the games are not all played in the Eastern
Zone. I don't think a couple of minutes either way will affect the
outcome. The favorites are all solid favorites for a reason and all
the favorites are playing at home.

1/12/08
Seattle at Green Bay Wisconsin
4:30 PM EST + 5 hrs
Green Bay Wisconsin USA
10 Cancer 05 rises
88 W 01 11
44 N 31 09

Green Bay is the favorite and with the Moon applying to the MC, there
is little doubt the Green Bay Packers will win. If the game starts at
4:35 or so I still think the Packers will win.

Jacksonville, Fl at New England Patriots
1/12/08 8:05 PM EST + 5hrs
Foxboro, MA USA
71 W 15' 00"
42 N 3' 30"
4 Virgo 09 rises

I threw in the extra five minutes and this puts 29 Taurus 07 on the
MC. If the game starts late enough to put Gemini on the MC it seems to
make no difference. The Patriots should handle this one with ease.

1/13 San Diego at Indianapolis
1:05 EST + 5 hrs
Indianapolis, IN USA
86 W 09' 29"
39 N 46' 06"
13 Taurus 59 rises

Moon Void of Course = nothing happens Favorites win

New York Giants at Dallas
4:35 PM EST + 5 hrs
Dallas, TX USA
96 W 48' 00"
32 N 47' 00"
26 Gemini 12 rises

Remember the Giants are America's beloved team and they are playing a
team that many years ago had so many players busted for illegal drug
use that they became known as South America's team. Alas and thrice
woe, no matter what I do The Giants, inexplicably, lose. The
antiscion of their significator, Jupiter, is close to the 7th cusp
perhaps indicating they will beat the spread. At least my brother
hopes so. I told him to bet that way.

The Packers game started at 3:33:30 CST, and the Patriots game at 8:16 PM EST. (Tom, that's CST, not EST)

This illustrates the problem with these playoff games: you can't rely on the times. Regular season NFL games are quite close in their starting times, but not the playoffs.

Both games should be a good test of Frawley's system. The Packers game has a Moon-Uranus conjunction right on the MC, which should mean an upset. The Patriots game has Saturn just below the Ascendant. It rules the Pats 5th and 6th houses, so it will be interesting to see how it goes.

I am working on an analysis of the games using Sophia Mason's diurnal chart method, but I'm not quite done yet. If you put a gun to my head I'd pick Jacksonville, but I'm not confident enough of the method to say more than that.

Mixed feelings today. I split on the weekend and although the Giants won, I'm disappointed with my overall results. I picked the four favorites, and my Giants were not among them. The favorites won on Saturday, but both games Sunday were upsets and I can't see the upsets in the charts.

I don't have the exact kickoff times, either, but I took the possibility of later or earlier starts into consideration and didn't see how it made a difference in these charts. Since the favorites were the home team in every game, there is no evidence one way or the other which system is superior, i.e. favorites get the ASC or home team gets the ASC.

The problem with judging Sunday's charts was the Moon. It was near the end of Pisces, and therefore void of course in both games. The Moon made no aspects to any of the significators or their antiscia. The void Moon can be interpreted as "nothing much happens," i.e. the favorite wins. Even pushing the Moon across the sign boundary doesn't change anything.

Hmmm. :-? Well there is always next weekend.
