In connection with my current research project I was looking for game writeups on some of the popular sports websites.

I found what I wanted on the Sports Illustrated site, but I happened to notice that they record the actual starting time of the game! Now, having said that, and knowing that alot of you are all excited at the prospect of having actual starting times to work with, let me list a few caveats:

1> They list times only (as far as I know) for the NFL and US soccer games
2> Not all of the times listed for the NFL are starting times. If you see a time like 1:00, 4:05, 4:15, 8:30, those are scheduled times. I have checked their times against several games I have timed and they are accurate, with perhaps one exception. I will be timing as many games as I can from now on to check on them.

The soccer times are in the section called 'wrap', or something like that. It's where they have the log of the game. Let me know if you can't find it.

For those in Europe I suggest you do some digging. If our sources list that info perhaps someone over there does, too. I an sure all sports record the start of the game: the trick is to find someone who publishes it. Perhaps those of you who prefer to research soccer (football) could use the data from our league. At least you would have accurate starting times to work with. With Frawley's methods that is an important consideration.
