Lotto and Fortuna

1
I was reading through the history of the Lotto in Norway. The first draw was on April 19. 1986. The Sun is 30Aries but in the degree of the nodes in the 1st degree of Taurus. There is a Grand Trine in Fire where the Moon in Leo translates the Sagittarius Uranus (chance, or the unexpected) to the exalted Sun in Aries. Luna is conjunct Alphard, 'the One that stands alone', when in trine with Uranus, and is joined to Regulus when perfecting the translation to the Sun.

The last time they replaced the machine that draws out the winning numbers was in 2004. After the first draw they named the machine 'Fortuna'. That's a good name!!

Should the Part of Fortune be given greater attention in matters of gaming? Does its dispositor play any part on the outcome of football results?

John Frawley pays great attention to PoF and its antiscion. Regarding its dispositor he says:

"Its dispositor applying to conj Fortuna favours the favourites.
Its dispositor applying to opp Fortuna favours the underdogs."

As yet, I haven't found an opportunity to test this out. Perhaps Laurie has?

Excellent! :D

If the Lotto drawing machine has a 'radix' with the Moon separating from a beneficial aspect with Uranus (chance, random), does that mean that you can pick up on luck or chance with the Moon applying to or separating from Uranus?

This might be both the wrong question and approach, but for the sake of theory it is interesting with an exchange of opinions.

This is interesting!
I am reading Frawley's book on Sports Astrology.
He seems to have changed his priorities.
About Arabic parts- "IGNORE ARABIAN PARTS" and goes on to say"... If you want to b fussy, you could look at dispositor of Part of Fortune....It is most unlikely to swing a judgment".

I was wondering if anyone has read his book.I found it very verbose and the writing style humorous but distracting.

Hi PD,
I was quoting from the Events section of Frawley's book. Your quote comes from the Horary section and the context is different since he is referring to the position of POF's dispositor.

I do think you summed up the Frawley style in a most descriptive manner. This is both his strength and possible weakness, although his chosen style serves the purpose as both a teacher, communicator and entertainer. I do think this is a trade in the present times and he seems to do it quite successfully, although some of us will want to return to distilling the essentials of astrology, that is true.

Technical difficulties was the cause when Norsk Tipping cancelled two of its draws on Tuesday 3 Nov 2009. The fault was in the communication systems preventing coupons from being entered into the evenings draw. I cannot recall this having happened before. The Moon was in the 24th degree of Taurus square stationary Neptune and would have been conjunct Algol at the time the draw was due on television.

I had a few small prizes in the Norwegian lotto the last weeks. Nothing to write home about, but transit Pluto has been closing in on a trine to my natal Mercury. Maybe this is a factor? Then I also noticed that the number '6' was drawn out in 5 of the 8 last draws. With 7 numbers being draw out of 34 the chances should be about 1/5?

I delivered a coupon today at 08.10 CEST (06.10 GMT) with Venus rising on the ascendant at 7 Libra. The Moon applies to her by a square through signs of long ascension, she being placed in 6 Cancer. I think the interesting thing here is how Luna comes off her aspects with the outer planets Uranus and Pluto, which represents a random shaking of numbers, and then moves to the inner planet Venus. Does this make more sense in terms of bringing luck home?
