I didn't think there'd be a mad rush to answer this as there simply isn't much good quality material easily available. My lists were mainly born out of hours of studying nineteenth century magazines, seventeenth century astrology books and long discussions in the pub :D

I know some people swear by CC Zain's Weather Predicting, which is available through the Astrology Center of America. Carolyn Egan has a site at http://www.weathersage.com/ and there's Carl Matthew's site at http://www.rhegeds.freeserve.co.uk/astromet.htm There's a book by Kris Riske Astrometeorology: Planetary Power in Weather Forecasting available through Amazon, but I haven't seen it.

There are twenty or so good pages in Ramesey's Astrology Restored, which is where I started. It's one of his less waffly sections. You'll find similar material in other books of that period, no doubt someone will point them out, but from memory, they were all much of a muchness.

You may have to search a little but there is material out there. However, some texts that claim to be about astrometeorology only look at lunar phases, so it's worth checking them out before buying books.

Techno-seer, yes, kim's so right, theres not much. Thanks for asking this question because I have long had this interest as well. Coincindently I just finished writting a post saying if astrology is a crock because it cant predict 100% of the time than meteology is a crock too:)

Anyway, I too enjoyed your article Kim.

Thanks for answering my question, now I know where I stand. I will invest in Zain's book and use your article Kim, as the basis for my beginner's practice. Only became a convert to Traditional astrology in the last two months, and so am more picky about what books I will buy. I live an hour out from the nearest big city, so it is cheaper to order books on-line, and it is more important to get a feel for them from other's reviews.

If you are prepared to research traditional sources I would also recommend volume III of the Renaissance Astrology CD Library supplied by Christopher Warnock. This is an electronic collection of facsimilie reproductions and John Goad?s publication Astrometeorology (referred to in Kim?s article) is included on this disc, along with:

Meteorologiae by William Cock, (1670)
Prognostication (Weather) by Leonard Digges (1605)
Nature?s sectrets by Thomas Wilsford (1655)

It was after reading Kim?s article that I realised these are texts worth reading.

The CDs retail for about $40 each. I?ve reviewed the collection at http://www.skyscript.co.uk/rev_ren.html or go straight to Christopher Warnock?s web page at http://www.renaissanceastrology.com/cdlibrary.html for his details.

Also thought it?s worth including the link to Kim?s article here: http://www.skyscript.co.uk/meteorology.html

Some Juno Info.
Juno and Hurricanes:
http://www.circlesoflight.com/wolfstar/05-09-05.html
Quote:- " The tiny asteroid Juno, sometimes referred to as the storm goddess, plays a surprisingly huge role in the astrology of hurricanes.
More often than not, Juno and Uranus are forming very tight aspects to each other.
During the Galveston hurricane, (Sept. 6th 1900), when the greatest number of lives were lost, Juno and Uranus were exactly trine to each other. Katrina (Juno square Uranus), Andrew (Juno inconjunct Uranus), and Camille (Juno square Uranus).
I havent checked this information, as i study Juno in a different way, but may help in this complicated thread over weather patterns.

We can look at the Juno/Uranus problem by today's events in Kabul, Afghanistan, (34*N31', 69*E11').
The news today on B.B.C. told of a terrorist attack that happened just before mid-day in Kabul, Afghanistan, that was one of the most terrible since occupation, please go to Google News, find the report section, then go to all news articles. Scroll down to the Washington report, which will explain this happened just before "Noon Islamic Prayers".
I have set my chart at 11:51am., where you will find on Friday 8th September 2006, that the M.C. is 15*30' Virgo, the Sun is 15*31' Virgo, and Juno is in conjunction to the Sun at 12*13' Virgo.....where is Uranus?
Uranus is in direct opposition to Juno, at 12*38'.
Lets look at another attack that happened in India today, my information comes from Reuters, and involves a traditional problem with Pluto, which is now only a dwarf planet, like Ceres.
This attack happened at approx. 13:50pm in Malegaon, Maharashtra, India, (20*N33', 74*E32'), Asc. is at 27*40' Sag., and Pluto is 24*05' Sag.
It may be of interest to see where the Sun and Juno was at 11:30am on 28th June 1914, when Arch-Duke Ferdinand was assassinated and compare with the Kabul attack, or even Pluto!

I have Zain's book "Weather Predicting" and it is very fascinating. While it is technically modern astrology, it is pre 60s and 70s and has the spirit of traditional. Still I am at a lost on how to deal with his using the three outer planets, with rularship of signs even!! Uranus to Aquariaus, etc. I am getting too old to keep accommodating new findings, i.e. Vedic vs Western, now Traditional vs Modern. This is a really good book and their is little else out there that is this comprehensive on just the weather.

I think I will have to follow Zain's advice and keep a journal. I will use his method in full, including (gasp!) using the outer three with sign rularship. Then I will do a second reading using his method modified by what I know of Ptolemy, Lilly, Albiruni, and Frawley, and minus the outer three. Then I will pick the winner, myself.

Mercury makes its second station on May 31. This often appears to coincide with exceptional atmospheric conditions. It's as if something is in the air. Either there is not a breath of wind, or we get full blast with extreme windcasts and everything happens at once.

Norway has been forcast tropical weather for the firstcoming weekend with temperatures exceding 30C! It's kinda early in the year, but could occur if the weather is fine and the motion in the air comes to a halt.

Not bad, considering I had snow in my garden only 4 weeks ago! 8)

Moreover Mercury then remains in the vicinity of the square aspect to Jupiter Neptune. Here in the Netherlands the weather has been a bit changeable but on the whole we have had very good weather during April and May. As I wrote in the other thread I think it has something to do with that longduring Venus Mars conjunction now. How has the Norwegian weather been doing since April? As usual or better than usual?
