Help with Medical Horary Question

1
Please help me with a medical question. I am not in favour of getting involved in medical issues with astrology but someone who is very close to me asked that I give her some astrological advice about a problematic molar that the ?professionals? have now decided needs to be pulled. The story behind this tooth is long and involved, covering more that two years of X-rays and numerous consultations with dentist, root canal specialist, plus allopathic and naturopathic doctors, none of which has revealed the cause of a hard, sizeable and sore lump at the base of the tooth.

The data for the question, ?Should I get my tooth pulled?? is as follows, April 4, 2006, 4:37pm EDT, Orangeville, Ontario, Canada, 43N55 080W06.

My understanding is that the tooth is ruled by the 10th house whose ruler is Mercury in this chart [Mer also rules the Querent but I assign it to the tooth instead]; the extraction, i.e., surgery, is represented by the 8th, ruled by Mars in Gemini and in 10th, the house of the tooth. The Querent is Moon Cancer 10th.

The querent, Moon, is in rulership and in the Fall of Mars indicating this woman?s distaste for the idea of surgery but also shows the focus of her attention on the tooth [10th].. The tooth is in Fall and Detriment in Pisces in the 7th, the house of the consultants ? the tooth is in poor condition and its fate appears to be currently in the hands of the medical consultants. The surgery, Mars, is peregrine but ruled by Mer ? surgery is ?drawn to? the tooth.

The tooth?s condition will not change soon [Mer at 18Pis]. There is currently no connection [no aspect] between querent and surgery and the querent?s attitude will not change anytime soon either [Mon at 08Can]. The Mon-Mer Tri will perfect in the 19th degree Mutable but the Mer-Mar Sqr will not perfect before Mars changes sign; this indicates to me that the tooth will stay with the querent and surgery can be ruled out. I might add that the extraction carries its own risk of significant problems.

Is this a correct judgment? Is there anything I missed or misinterpreted? Should Saturn ? separation, bone matters, and ruler of the 6th ? be brought into the picture? Saturn is indifferent about tooth or querent [not in either of their dignities or debilities and no aspect to either] and the querent, Moon, has a distaste for separation of bone matter [in detriment of Sat].

I would appreciate any feedback as I am very, very into learning about and using Horary, although I admit that medical questions scare the bejeezus out of me!!

Thanking you in advance?.
Ron

Hi Ron
My understanding is that the tooth is ruled by the 10th house whose ruler is Mercury in this chart [Mer also rules the Querent but I assign it to the tooth instead]; the extraction, i.e., surgery, is represented by the 8th, ruled by Mars in Gemini and in 10th, the house of the tooth. The Querent is Moon Cancer 10th.
Can I ask why you are using the 10th house to signify the tooth, and why you are using the 8th house for the surgery? Normally you would look at the 6th house for indications of the illness and the 10th house for indications of the treatment. Neptune in Aquarius is on the cusp of the 6th house which is ruled by retrograde Saturn. That suggests a recurring problem and Neptune suggests dissipation or weakness (ie further decay). Mars is in the 10th (surgery) and Mercury is applying to Mars by square. I don?t think the surgery will be at all pleasant but several factors in this chart (such as the Moon?s trine to the Mercury/Uranus conjunction) would suggest to me that it needs to be done.

Thank you so much for this, Deb! I confess to having difficulty extracting myself from modern astrology influences regarding significators. Mea culpa, mea culpa! I have made more than a few errors in judgment as a result so I am being very, very careful - and avoiding any medical questions without additional opinions like yours.

The significators you indicated plus their condition in the chart does seem to point to a tooth extraction after all. Gosh, it seems so obvious and so simple it's amazing!!

Thanks again! [Sorry I took so long getting back to this post; I have been away for a while.]

I will certainly get back to this forum to provide updates on the situation. At present, the individual is doing everything possible to manifest alternate healing techniques as the appointed day of the extraction approaches. There is a moderate level of healing taking place but it's anybody's guess whether it will be ultimately successful without the extraction.
