I haven't really come across anywhere which discusses reading the full chart of a synodic event, for instance a Jupiter/Saturn conjunction.
Is there any validity to this?
I would imagine you could garner information regarding cultural trends from analysing such a chart.
For instance, this is the chart for the 1961 Jupiter/Saturn conjunction. The Sun and Mercury conjunct the South Node opposite the Pluto NN conjunction seems significant considering the big wave of counterculture which was happening during that decade.
Are there any resources out there of people analysing these charts?

hi holderflod,
i have been noticing some of your posts where you ask good questions and no one gives you an answer, like here and in the indian and asian astrology forum!
here is a link that includes the jupiter-saturn conjunction for 2020 that was posted about 5 years ago... maybe you'll find some info in the thread of value.. if not, i am sorry! cheers james

I think it's a very interesting (and valid) topic of inquiry and have been wishing I could find more people writing about it.

I can only assume you must be very new to mundane astrology then. There is a wealth of discussion of the Jupiter-Saturn cycle in astrological literature going back to the early middle ages. Astrologers that examined this cycle included Masha'Allah, Abu Mashar, Ibn Ezra, Cardano, Kepler .Lilly and Morin. And I am merely scratching the surface.
It has perhaps lost its complete pre-eminence as the most important of the planetary cycles with the influence of astrologers like Andre Barbault popularising outer-planet cycles to Jupiter,. Saturn and each other.
Nevertheless, there are lots of articles about this cycle up all over the internet. Its especially topical just now as we are about to witness a great mutation with the conjunctional cycle moving from earth to air. I will put up some links for people to research this further. _________________ As thou conversest with the heavens, so instruct and inform thy minde according to the image of Divinity William Lilly

I am afraid the forum rule I have adopted here is if the thread starts tropical it stays tropical or vice versa.

No fear! I regret that I didn't realize I was not following the rule. |

I suppose it is more accurate to describe it as guidance rather than some kind of draconian rule. It just gets confusing with people posting in different zodiacs in one thread. So its simpler to stick to the line that the original poster decides the zodiac on a thread.
