I was fascinated listening to an interview on youtube with Jeff Christie, who wrote the 1970 hit song "Yellow River". He explained that he was fascinated with the American Civil War, and that is what the song is about. He says the song is about a Confederate soldier going on leave.

I am curious if revivals of interest in previous eras have an astrological pattern. From my researches, it seems as though Neptune's position is important in the era being revived (or in the generation of people being affected, as in the 1967 summer of love).

Neptune in the above-linked chart of the American Civil War is 29 degrees Pisces/zero degrees Aries. Various outer planet transits during 1969 and 1970 would have affected this position of Neptune, and also in 1968. There was an opposition of Uranus in 29 degrees Virgo and Chiron in 29 degrees Pisces, which crossed over into an opposition of Uranus in 1 degree Libra and Chiron in 1 degree Aries, at the same time as IsisTranspluto was 45 degrees semisquare to this opposition, in mid Leo around 1970. Later on, from November 1970, transiting Pluto was in 29 degrees Virgo, and then 1 degree Libra up to 1972.

Neptune is about music and the yearning Duende that gives it its magic. This song was instantly recognised as having that special magic.

Jeff Christie was born on 12th July 1946 in Leeds, UK. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christie_(band)

I do not know his time of birth and have guessed, putting his significant Mercury in mid Leo on his Midheaven. Transiting IsisTranspluto in mid Leo would have been crossing his Mercury at the time he wrote the song and it became popular, and his natal Moon is likely to be 45 degrees semisquare to his Mercury, at about 29 degrees Sagittarius; this Mercury Moon aspect would tune into the Neptune in the American Civil War chart.

Also IsisTranspluto at 17 degrees Gemini in the American Civil War chart is very close to Jeff Christie's very striking Moon's North Node conjunct Uranus in 19 degrees Gemini.

Jeff Christie's Phaethon (I wish Astrodienst charts would do Phaethon automatically) is 16 degrees Sagittarius, retrograde and close to stationary. Stationary planets are very strong in a person's chart. It is exactly opposition IsisTranspluto in 16 degrees Gemini in the American Civil War chart. Eric Morse wrote that Phaethon links us to our past, and shows an interest in history, piecing back together things that are lost.
