Mutual reception?

1
If two planets are in mutual reception, do you always interpret the chart as if the reception placements are in effect? In other words, with Venus in Cancer and the Moon in Libra, would you interpet the moon to be in Cancer and thus applying to a conjuction with Saturn in Cancer? And if so, then Venus would be in Libra applying to a square with Saturn, right?

And if you use the reception placements, do you also use the reception degrees? For example, if the Moon is in 28 Libra, but Venus is in 16 Cancer, do you now ignore the fact the moon is actually void of course and pretend it's really at 16 Cancer?

Help! Thanks!

The short answer is no. Being in mutual reception by sign doesn't mean that the planets are capable of actually moving places, only that they are both willing to receive the other - it's the applications between the two planets in MR which receive the benefit.
